Born into a musical family, Eric began playing drums at the age of five. As a representative of the Humber College Community Music Program, he participated in multiple Music Fest National competitions throughout different elementary and high schools.
He furthered his musical education in 2009 by enrolling into Humber College’s Bachelors Music program. There he had the great fortune of studying under drum greats Mark Kelso, Paul DeLong and Larnell Lewis. During his time at Humber College, he also began lessons with drum guru Jim Blackley, absorbing his unique and musical method.
In 2012 he was awarded the Sabian Cymbal Award for outstanding achievement.
After school, Eric has maintained a busy schedule as an educator and freelance musician. He has toured extensively through the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. In 2014, he along with his band mates from Pram Trio, were awarded the prestigious Grand Prix de Jazz at the Montreal Jazz Festival.
Eric continues to perform regularly as a very active member of the Toronto Jazz scene. His band holds a monthly residency gig at the Poetry Jazz Café.
